  1. What did you do this past week?

This past week, I finished up the Collatz assignment and started thinking about what kind of project I want to do with my group. I looked into some technologies that might be useful along with some free API’s we could use. I also looked through previous years’ websites to get some inspiration and make sure my ideas are not too complicated or too simple.

2. What’s in your way?

The biggest challenge in my way is figuring out where to start on the group project. I’ve never worked on such a complex task with group members before, so I think it will be difficult to organize a game plan that’s also feasible. I think communication, coordination, and organization will play a huge part in being successful.

3. What will you do next week?

Next week I will meet with my group and start planning what kind of website we want to make. It will also help to make a rough outline of the rest of the semester and decide timelines for certain goals.

4. If you read it, what did you think of the Pair Programming?

I think pair programming is a very useful technique and one that I have used and benefitted from in the past. I can definitely see the appeal for this, and based on the stats for bug free code, it seems like a technique that is widely used.

5. What was your experience of types?

I think it was a pretty basic and easy to understand concept. There were some details which I was unaware of, such as what types are mutable and immutable, but overall I think I got a good grasp on types.

6. What made you happy this week?

This week was my mom’s birthday, but I am on campus right now, so it made me very happy to see her surprised face when she saw the cake I had delivered to the house.

7. What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

I came across Boostrap a few years ago and thought it was a very useful tool for front-end development. It’s very quick and easy to use, and generally doesn’t require any prior knowledge of CSS/HTML.
